Do you try not to judge others? I try not to judge others.

This homeless guy asked me for money the other day, and I was about to give it to him, then I thought; he's just going to use it on drugs and alcohol.  Why should I give him my money?  Then I realized, that's what I'm going to use it on!!!  Why am I judging this poor bastard?

It felt good to have taken the moral road by not judging him.  It also felt good to know that I was not parted from my money like a fool and I felt content with the knowledge that I now had anough for my fix ;)

I don't judge.

I urge people not to judge. It's a lot cheaper ;)

I try not to make assumptions on people. In the givin situation, where a homeless person asks for money. I wouldn't give it to them, not because I think he'll missuse it, but because there is the possability of him missusing it. I'd think the same way about everyone though, with the exception of close friends or relitives.

Although on the other hand, I might be willing to offer him to join me for dinner? lol

I don't think it's reasonable to think you can not judge others. Trying to make better informed judgments, instead of too quickly jumping to conclusions is great, but claiming not to judge is delusional or dishonest.

I judge, much of the time, just not in way most would think.

Judge of character, not judging based on my ego.

I also judge distance, time, and events that I believe to be happening.

I hardly judge a person I hardly know, more or less ones I take the time to know, based on the circumstance. But most of the time I take the saying "it is what is" and apply it myself.

I wouldnt like to be judged by someone that hardly knows me especially negatively unless that person is trying to analyze characteristics with knowing and experiencing, not the ego.

I do judge people, all of you and at the end I may or may not pick someone as a potential friend, enemy, love, threat...

Side: I judge all the time.

I think sometimes it is best to judge. Like for example, i would judge a babysitter before letting him or her babysit.

So it is good to judge to be safe and to keep people safe.

Sometimes these kind of judgements can be based off looks and clothing. And they can be quick judgements. So i believe, it is good to take a step back and come up with legit reasons whether the person you judged are good and/or bad.

So i guess if you judge now and quick, judge later and throughly. :) Or just not care who you judged, go to 7/11, buy a Ben and Jerry's ice cream and endulged it with your children watching the Little Mermaid. :)

I am afraid that there are truly people who have upset the balance of yin and yang to the level at which no Buddhist can tolerate them without judgement.

I don't think you can upset the balance.

Anyone can.

And your intolerance and judgement restore that balance, do they?

No. They recognise the error and fix it in themselves. Buddhism is more about watching the other and quietly scoffing at their idiocy (unless you care about them, then try to preach and help) rather than the monotheist religions which choose to preach and shove things down one's throat.
