It's hard to draw a line between black and white when there are varying degrees of gray
Some people cannot take care of themselves. If you cannot take care of yourself, you may seek for some sucker to take care of you (black). Or, you may seek for a family member, a spouse or the government to take care of you (gray). Or, you may seek to go at it alone and do the best you can (white). These people fall inbetween absolute black and absolute white, creating varying shades of gray, depicted below.
Some people can take care of themselves. If you can take care of yourself, you may seek to be a philanthropist and give to charity (white). Or, you may seek to help only friends and family (gray). Or, you may seek to go at it alone and hope others do the same (black). In between these two, are shades of gray. These people fall inbetween absolute white and absolute black, creating varying shades of gray, depicted below.

You will find it hard to draw a line in an attempt to cut away the black. Every "real" debate posted on CD is an attempt to decide where to draw that line. The problem is that, if you are not with me, then you must be with that black part I'm trying to cut away.
