The world is about to get better.
In the 21st century we might witness the creation of a massive new unworking class: people devoid of any economic, political or even artistic value, who contribute nothing to the prosperity, power and glory of society. This “useless class” will not merely be unemployed — it will be unemployable.
The coming technological bonanza will probably make it feasible to feed and support people even without any effort from their side. But what will keep them occupied and content? One answer might be drugs and computer games. Unnecessary people might spend increasing amounts of time within 3D virtual-reality worlds that would provide them with far more excitement and emotional engagement than the drab reality outside.

Take at good look at Finland the first country in Europe to promote the idea of a universal basic income to everyone irrespective of whether they are working or not. Will be interesting to see how it works out .... and how those not working manage to fill the hours of their days ? Side: True.

Hey, the states that legalized marijuana are raking in a lot of tax revenue. I say we legalize the other drugs too and rake in even more tax revenue to make up for the budget cuts. Many useless people will die from a drug overdose but means that we would have to spend less money on them as well, so it balances out. ;) Side: Wait..., what? No!!!
