I was wondering why the Democrats had a donkey as a mascot and then I realized that the reason is because only a jackass would consider voting for them.
Dude! There is no global warming. They are just trying to get you to sell your beach front property for pennies on the dollar. I'm snatching up as much Beach Front Property as I can. By the time people find out they've been lied to, I'll be sitting pretty.
I am sure if you looked you could find some other problems with Florida. Notice I didn't say look hard enough, it is pretty much a glance at Florida is enough.
Yes, I imagine your come back would be about me having something too small to see, but of course completely ignore how gay you would be for trying to stare at my junk.
You need to keep up with this case because your argument is incorrect
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe issued an order to show cause and writ of habeas corpus on behalf of two chimpanzees, Hercules and Leo.Under the law of New York State, only a “legal person” may have an order to show cause and writ of habeas corpus issued in his or her behalf. The Court has therefore implicitly determined that Hercules and Leo are “persons.”
For the first time in US history, a judge has granted two chimpanzees a petition – through human attorneys – to defend their rights against unlawful imprisonment, allowing a hearing on the status of “legal persons” for the primates.
A) That quote is in the guardian story from April 21st (probably an updated version of their initial report)
B) This is in line with what I originally said - they scheduled a hearing, they didn't declare them persons.
Note: it says "a petition" not a writ of habeas corpus. (From my reference: "Justice Jaffe issued an updated order on Tuesday with the words "writ of habeas corpus" manually crossed out.")
C) Did you read past the first sentence in the guardian story??
"On Tuesday afternoon she struck the words “writ of habeas corpus” from the order, in order to clarify that she had not meant to imply the chimpanzees have legal person status."
Yes I read that and the Guardian noted it, however, none of that changes the issue that on May 6th the two chimpanzees have been granted a petition to defend their rights and allow a hearing on the status of “legal persons”
