Anyone who has read Mein Kampf will know the eerie (knowing what he did and comparing it to this benevolent God he mentions) references to God and the usage which implies he believed in an Abrahamic doctrine. Most likely Christian.

Whatever Hitler "practiced" (as a "practicing Catholic") was certainly NOT Christianity. Hitler was an unrepentant mass murderer, which goes directly against true Christian practice and belief, and God's plan for the earth and humanity on it.

He was a practicing Catholic

SS (his personnel army) has on insignia about god

He described himself in his book(Mein Kampf) as a fanatical beiever.

In his speeches from the 1922 to 1939 he was quite frequently talking about faith, god and Christianity.

Hitler was not only a confessed Christian, but his intolerance and atrocities were consistent with Biblical scripture and he acted as other Christians of the past and present

"He was a practicing Catholic"

His father was a religious skeptic who was said to be abusive to his family and his mother a devout catholic but Hitler was not catholic during his adult years. Any references or pictures taken with him and Catholic bishops or leaders was usually when he was trying to win the catholic vote.

"Why not [make peace with the churches]? That will not prevent me from totally uprooting Christianity in Germany and eliminating it lock, stock and barrel. It is, however, decisive for our people whether they have the Judeo-Christian faith and its flabby morality of sympathy, or a strong, heroic faith in god in nature, in god in one's own people, in god in one's own fate, in one's own blood. ... One is either a Christian or a German. One can't be both."

- Adolf Hitler to the Reich Chancellery, quoted in Henry Bordeaux.

Edith Stein: Thoughts on Her Life and Times. Translated by Donald

and Idela Galalgher [Milwaukee: Bruce Publishing, 1959], page 20.

"Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure."

- Hitler's Table Talk, October 10, 1941, page 51.

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains: One could imagine nothing more senseless, nor any more indecent way of turning the idea of the Godhead into a mockery. A negro with his taboos is crushingly superior to the human being who seriously believes in Transubstantiation."

- Hitler's Table Talk, December 13, 1941, page 144.

Is he still catholic? Oh by the way he also killed Christians, his own people with the Jews. He called Christianity a creation of the Jews

and he truly hated it

SS (his personnel army) has on insignia about god

So what? How many people walk around with crosses around their necks and aren't christian? For all we know its just for style. He also had the swastika, which is a Hindu symbol that means to be good. that doesn't mean he's Hindu does it?

In his speeches from the 1922 to 1939 he was quite frequently talking about faith, god and Christianity.

In both those instances it was a political speech. you cant use politics to tell a man's belief. You should know that.

The quote, "one is either a Christian or a German. One can't be both" says exactly what side Hitler stood on as far as Christianity goes--he decidedly was NOT a Christian. It explains why he so badly hated Jehovah's Witnesses as well, imprisoning thousands of them along with Jews, Gypsies, and homosexuals. Did I leave anyone out? He hated anyone who refused to worship him as their God, which those religious groups would not do.

Hitler did, however, have the support of Catholics, smilingly greeting the Pope. Read the book "Hitler's Pope."

Hitler wrote: "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." As a boy, Hitler attended to the Catholic church and experienced the anti-Semitic attitude of his culture. In his book, Mein Kampf, Hitler reveals himself as a fanatical believer in God and country. This text presents selected quotes from the infamous anti-Semite himself.

http://www.nobeliefs.com/hitler.htm

Hitler's own words reveal his feelings for God, Christianity and faith. Taken from speeches made by Hitler from the 1922 to 1939

http://www.nobeliefs.com/speeches.htm

Myth 1: Hitler was not a Christian

The entire section on Hitler's Christianity provides ample evidence for his brand of Christianity. The evidence itself destroys any opinions or beliefs about Hitler's alleged apostasy.

The evidence shows that:

Hitler was born and baptized into Catholicism

His Jewish antisemitism came from his Christian background.

His early personal notes shows his interest in religion and Biblical views.

He believed that the Bible represented the history of mankind.

His Nazi party platform (their version of a constitution) included a section on Positive Christianity, and he never removed it.

He confessed his Christianity.

He tried to establish a united Reich German Church.

Hitler allowed the destruction of Jewish synagogues and temples, but not Christian churches.

He encouraged Nazis to worship in Christian churches.

He spoke of his Christian beliefs in his speeches and proclamations.

His contemporaries, friends, Protestant ministers and Catholics priests, including the Vatican, thought of Hitler as a Christian.

The Catholic Church never excommunicated Hitler. He died a Catholic.

To ignore the evidence of Hitler's Christianity demonstrates how power of belief can obscure the facts.

None of your "Hitler was a Christian" arguments prove your point. Hitler did not PRACTICE Christianity, only "his brand", which in itself is hypocritical "Christianity."

The Popes have condoned homosexuality and child abuse for centuries, repeating the mantra that only they have the authority to teach the Bible, which neither statement is true--(they neither have God's authority nor do they teach the Bible). And if you disbelieve them they threaten hellfire, another unscriptural tool for control of the masses.

The Protestant religions are also at fault, blessing the armaments and those poor men who went off to give their lives for a cause that goes directly against God and Jesus' principles as shown in the Bible.

So..., the RZoman Catholic Church and Protestants are NOT Christians? ;)

You know what is really ironic about Hitler, he praised a race of blond haired, blue eyed people who would be rid of all Jewish influence, while he himself was black haired, brown eyed, and raised by a Jewish father. Sounds like he had some serious self-loathing issues.

In a history class i took, the teacher mentioned something about Hitler's father believed by some to be abusive, so i think he hatred towards the Jews may have been based in his daddy issues, which may have been escalated from his trauma in the first world war.

Hitler reveals his own Christianity in mein kampf as a Roman Catholic.

Side: Christian

Neither.

Not a Christian:

Hitler was raised in a Roman Catholic household and served as an alter boy in his youth, but during his adult years never attended Mass nor ever expressed any signs of personal religiousity. However in the early rise of Nazism, Hitler strongly identified with his Catholic origions and throughout his auto-biography "Mein Kampf" is littered with biblical references, such as;"I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." However in private, Hitler displayed a largely different attitude towards Christianity, even stating he considered the Bible "too Jewish". There was also a large plan the Nazis had to eradicate Christianitys hold on Europe had they succeeded in the war.

That should give insight why Hitler wasnt a Christian, however it was more unlikely that he was an Atheist....

Not an Atheist:

Despite his personal hostility towards traditional Christianity, Hitler never made any personal, public, or written statement denouncing the existnce or a personal doubt of the existance of a God or supreme being. Despite his doubt of christianity, Hitler still made plenty of personal references to a God or a Creator. He also had a strong interest in the occult and early germanic-norse paganism, therefore hinting that he believed in the supernatural. He also largely endorsed the movement of " Positive Christianity", the official Nazi endorsed version of Christianity which depicted Jesus Christ as an Aryan warrior who fought against the Jews. Also throughout the rule of the Nazis and Germany, the traditional national phrase left over from the German Empire years "Got Mitt Uns" ("God with us" in German) was still embraced as the states motto and was worn on the belt buckles of Werchmaht (German army) soldiers. The German army also recruited official christian chaplins to lead in prayers in the military circles, and soldiers were required to take this oath:

"I swear by God this sacred oath that to the Leader of the German empire and people, Adolf Hitler, supreme commander of the armed forces, I shall render unconditional obedience and that as a brave soldier I shall at all times be prepared to give my life for this oath."

Also many Atheistic and/or secular groups were shut down by the Nazis, being demonized as a tool of "Godless" Communism. Also many books that encouraged secularism and/or atheism were destroyed by the regime, such as Charles Darwins "Origins of the species".

So in short, although Hitler may nit have been a Christian, there is little evidence, historic or otherwise, to suggest that he was an Atheist. (In fact many historians concluded that Hitlers anti-semitism may have stemmed from his strict Catholic upbringing). Judging by his numerous quotes expressing a belief in a "creator" or a "higher power", as well as his admiration for the occult, "positive Christianity", and Norse paganism, it can most likely be concluded that Hitler was a Diest of sorts.

Hitler's Book

Adolf Hitler - Mein Kampf – 1925

Ch. 1. The parish priest was the highest, in the scale of human attainment.

Ch. 1. To look upon the Abbot as the highest human ideal worth striving for, just as the position of the humble village priest.

Ch. 1. The German parish priest showed a subjective devotion to his Church and his nation.

Ch. III. For Every unworthy priest and clergy we can find a thousand or more who fulfill their mission nobly as the trustworthy guardians of souls

Ch. V The Catholic Church has a lesson to teach us. ...... And holds fast to its fixed and established dogmas which alone can give to the whole system the character of a faith.

The Catholic Church stands firmer to-day than ever before.

Ch. X The most devoted Protestant could stand side by side with the most devoted Catholic in our ranks

Ch. II. Hitler Congratulated the the blessings of the Church, "God be praised and thanked"

Ch. VII. I thank God that the sane and unspoiled masses shun these *( JEWISH' bourgeois mass meetings' as the devil shuns holy water.

Ch. Xl. When the JEW became baptized HE was entitled to all the rights and privileges which belonged to the children of the nation, to the great joy of the Church as a new child in the Faith.

.

Ch. II. My sense of justice enforced me to change my opinion to change my attitude towards the Christian-Socialist Movement.

Ch. III. The marvelous progress of the Christian-Socialist Party became a classic object of study for me, and played an important part in the development of my own views.

Ch. II. The high mission to preserve and encourage the highest type of humanity which a beneficent Creator has bestowed on this earth.

Ch. II. Germans allow men to degenerate STATE, because of the LOW level of the influence of the Christian Faith.

Ch. X. The two Christian denominations look on at the profanation and destruction of a noble and unique RACE who was given to the world as a gift of God's grace.

Ch. X. The two Christian denominations SHOULD be contending against the destroyer of Aryan humanity --- The Jews AND STOP trying to destroy one another.

Ch. X. Stop Talking about the Will of God merely from the lips but that in actual fact he fulfils the Will of God and does not allow God's handiwork to be debased.

Ch. X. For it was by the Will of God that men were made of a certain bodily shape, were given their natures and their faculties. Whoever destroys His work wages war against God's Creation and God's Will.

Ch. II. And so I believe to-day that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. In standing guard against the Jew I am defending the handiwork of the Lord.

Ch. II. i hate the Jew.

Ch XIV. We cannot cast out the Devil through Beelzebub. / The Jew ( IS SATAN )

He was a Pagan, which is neither Christian nor Atheist.

Raised Catholic, as a leader he dismissed the notions of a Christian God. His views came to be that Christianity was actually nothing more than bullshit to lead the people. However, you can't say shit like that publicly. It's easy to brainwash the people when you support what they support.

However, Hitler did believe in a God. So he wasn't an Atheist, which requires that you don't believe in God. And he most likely believed in a personal God, making him the Overman. Ironic, because Nietzsche philosophy came from Atheistic, individualist origins, while Hitler was a Deistic, collectivist.

He also talked negatively of Christianity and even said that other religions were superior to it, according to my link.

It is clear that during his Reich his views on Christianity started to grow more negative. His support of it came mostly from the realization that Christianity helped build Western Culture and that the German people would not follow a secular ideology. Hell, one of the main opposing parties was the Christian Socialists.

While he was raised a Catholic and spoke of God and Christianity in Mein Kampf, his views do not stay consistent into his later years.

All religions are cults

Technically yes, but it's still nice to keep a distinction between "sane religion" and "insane religion" for the purpose of convenience. In the same way that humans are animals, but nevertheless we distinguish ourselves from them for convenience in debate. Let us say that Western religion is cult like, and Scientology, The Branch, etc, are "true cults"- religions whose practices are so distinct from typical worship they cannot really be called "religion".

I studied Hitler and WW2 very deeply and the fact is Hitler was just as Christian as an American Evengelical.

That's a bold claim on a dubious topic.

I would like to hear evidence for this beyond He said in Mein Kampf blah blah blah. Religion is a powerful tool, and a man as smart as Hitler would have known that pretending to be Christian would have netted him key support. Futher, Hitler did not support Catholic or Protestants, he supported his own church that eliminated the gospels and Jewish origin.

To be honest, if I may have permission to make up a word here, I'd say Hitler was a Christo-Nazi. A believer in an unorthodox, probably Aryan Christ who merged vague concepts of Christanity with Nazi doctrine. And to me, "Christo-Nazism" would be a cult (a true cult, as I made the point earlier).
