A set of rules governing abortion that we can all live by
Conditions that must first be met:
1. Educating the public of the causes of pregnancy.
2. Educating the public about contraceptives.
3. Making contraceptives freely available to both sexes.
4. Educating the public of the legal consequences and ramifications (i.e., Educating both parents about the following responsibilities assigned to their actions).
a. All participants must use contraceptives. If contraception was NOT used by both parents:
b. The father is responsible for child support if the mother wants the baby.
c. The mother must carry the pregnancy to term if the father wants the baby.
d. Next of kin is given priority to raise the child if he/she qualifies.
e. The child is put up for adoption.
f. Illegal abortions are punishable by death. This includes Doctor, mother and father depending to what extent they have been a party to said abortion.
Abortions should be allowed under the following condition:
1. Pregnancy is due to rape or incest AND it is withing the current legal time frame of fetus development.
2. If both parents used contraception and both contraceptive devices failed and neither parent, wants the baby, AND it is withing the current legal time frame of fetus development.

The idea here is that the goal is to reduce unwanted pregnancies (and thus, abortions). Unwanted pregnancies can be reduced if the participating parties all use contraceptives. Education is the first line of defense in increasing the use of contraceptives by all parties. Making contraceptives freely available is the second line of defense in increasing the use of contraceptives by all parties. Assigning stiff (no pun intended ;) consequences for not using contraceptives (i.e., making both parties responsible for their actions) is the third line of defense in increasing the use of contraceptives by all parties. Allowances are made for the well being of the child as well. The child can be raised by one parent or next of kin or foster care. INSURMOUNTABLE HURDLES: 1. Getting conservatives to fund the free distribution of contraceptives. 2. Getting liberals to accept any amount of responsibility for anything. ;) Side: I can live with that

Abortion should be completely legalized and unregulated. While it may seem harsh to allow this, late-term abortions are rare and usually too complex to be just for the sake of "convenience" for the mother. What abortion laws do is bring about a bureaucratic system that women must go through in order to hope to achieve their abortion. And contraceptives and education are available to the public, but not through coercion. Side: No, kill the little bastard

This one, for example, after a flurry of activity on an abortion debate we are presented with this debate that is essentially your take on the issue. You also oftentimes try to find middle ground, or compromise, or mediate, so words like "that we can all live by" in your debates give it away. Really, when we start being honest with each other, what most people resent about abortion is that the system not really fair. I mean you have the right to kill your kid before he's born, but I don't have the right to kill mine afterwards. I mean if you can't kill your own kid, who the hell can you kill. First, you try reduction of privileges. You take the car keys from him, but that just doesn't work. And it would be so much easier to kill him, because he's really fucking up my life now. I mean think what I could be if I didn't have this kid up in my grill. I might even go back to school and get a law degree. Save more money. Retire better. But I got this government telling me that he has rights and shit. I can't kill him, because it's immoral, etc. etc. What a bunch of horse shit! Side: No, kill the little bastard

It's much worse than that. Let's say that you (as a man) kill your unborn fetus by punching your wife in the stomach. Now..., you would expect that you would be charged only with assault. But you would be wrong. You would be charged with murder. Now let's say that the reason you punched her in the stomach was because you wanted her to have an abortion and she refused. Well..., you are not allowed to request an abortion. Only she can. Now let's say that you wanted her to have an abortion because you did not want to provide child support. Well..., if she wants to keep the baby, you are required to pay child support. Let me put it this way..., Men and women are equal but women are more equal than men. ;) Here's another way to look at it..., men are forced to take responsibility for their actions.
