Apparently someone has been reading my abortion arguments.

I guess great minds think alike.

If only it had been worded better.

If you are a man, and you get a woman pregnant, there's a 25% chance you will NOT get fucked. Here's the break down:

1. You want the baby, she does not - You are fucked!

2. You do NOT want the baby, she does - You are fucked!

3. You do NOT want the baby, she does NOT want the baby - You are NOT fucked, you are OK.

4. You want the baby, she wants the baby - You are fucked, you just don't know it yet. ;)

These are all equally likely?

Side: That peeves me too.

Your mileage may vary ;)

I dont think that women should be forced to give birth. That should be free choice. Otherwise, I agree.

So you feel that fathers shouldn't have to contribute to their children's financial needs?

The chain of causality between the child being born and the man's act in having sex is not broken by the woman's decision not to abort. The man still shares culpability for the child being born and the costs of that child. I could be argued that the fact that the mother chooses not to abort the child reduces the overall culpability of the man (and this applies to every would-be father in the country) to the effect that he should have to pay less than 50% of the costs of the child. (I'm assuming in the USA that less than 50% is right).

There is also the argument that women shouldn't feel forced to abort based on lack of finance.

Side: It is as it should be.

Correct. She has the option of putting the child up for adoption. ;)
