I mean, the U.S. didn't vow revenge during the "Iran hostage crisis" when Iran took over the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held fifty-two American diplomats and citizens hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979, to January 20, 1981.

This is why Iran should never be allowed to have nuclear weapons. If they did, we wouldn't be able to take out their military leaders with impunity and without the fear of retaliation.

You wrote this with sarcasm, but it is the actual fact of the matter!! The United States is the only country ever to have been stupid enough to use nuclear weapons and it has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. It uses its power as a threat to its perceived enemies on a daily basis, while at the same time it tries to make a MORAL (!!!) argument that these same enemies should not have the right to defend themselves from American aggression!!! It's absolutely insane, and it is a testament to how thoroughly corrupt and rotten the political system is, that diplomats don't simply laugh in the United States' face when they try to make such arguments.

For decades the US has been using the cloak of diplomacy for the singular goal of power. It has the power, it wants to keep the power, and that is essentially the reason it does not want anybody opposed to American interests to have access to nuclear weapons.
