U.S. Court Recognizes Chimpanzees As “Legal Persons”

How long before they recognize fetuses as humans?

I don't see the law changing any time soon. Which is why I am surprised every time the pro-abortionists get their panties in a wad.

Well now. How long before the chimps start voting for the democrats?

Don't look at me like that! If dead people can vote, so can chimps.

Now that got me thinking about planet of the apes. You don't suppose.....

I was wondering why the Democrats had a donkey as a mascot and then I realized that the reason is because only a jackass would consider voting for them.

The court agreed to have a trial, not that the chimpanzees are “Legal Persons”.

You need to keep up with this case because your argument is incorrect

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe issued an order to show cause and writ of habeas corpus on behalf of two chimpanzees, Hercules and Leo.Under the law of New York State, only a “legal person” may have an order to show cause and writ of habeas corpus issued in his or her behalf. The Court has therefore implicitly determined that Hercules and Leo are “persons.”

Actually you need to keep up with this case.

If you read the link I provided (it was updated April 21, 2015), you will see that it was not a writ of habeas corpus.

A legal person refers to a non-human entity that is treated as a person for limited legal purposes.

Note the word "limited" and lets not get carried away with ridiculous ideas

So congratulations to the liberationists this is one for animal welfare.

Fetuses should get legal person status for the limited legal purposes of not being aborted.

Oh, crap!!! Did I just get carried away with ridiculous ideas?
