Why does it take years to execute a criminal on death row?

Because we want to err on the side of caution and try to avoid executing an innocent person.

But we do NOT know EVERYTHING about:
Genetic/DNA/etc. interactions/processes necessary to create a human being
NOR
How the mind works.
And yet,
Some claim to know exactly when life begins
and thus decide to
err on the side of convenience and abort the little bastard.

But there are a lot of people who prefer convenience above all else.

I mean, take the "old countries" for example. They would rather sit outside a café enjoying an expresso (or cappuccino) while eating a baguette. Yeah, the café is probably an old, run down building but..., it's easier to do that than build a new one. Especially when you call it, "history!" Something "Americans don't have because..., how can a country that just a little over 200 years old have ANY history?" Especially when they go around tearing down parts of it ;)

Hello joe:

From my perspective, civil war generals were traitors, who fought a war against America to maintain slavery, and LOST.. That's NOT a history I'd be proud of - unless, of course, you think the wrong side won the civil war..

Nonetheless, statues of these traitors are part of our history, and should be relegated to museums, where history is venerated, and out of the public square where hero's are venerated..

I don't think that's too hard to grasp, do you? ;]

It's to let the shit in the convicted murderer bubble and simmer as he/she sits for years considering their well deserved fate.

Each conscious minute of every day would be dominated with the walk to their designated means of the execution.

Their disturbed sleep would be one long, torturous nightmare of images and sounds of their final moments before death.

SLAP IT UP THEM.
