This is the first argument. You must dispute or support this argument. If you click on the orange "add argument" button above, you will be banned and forfeit the win.
I created this debate because I have noticed that having the most logical argument doesn't always win. The winner seems to be whoever has the last word. So I want to know who has the stamina to go the distance.
I also created this debate because I have never banned anyone from any of my debates and I would like to use that feature after all these years.
The winner being whoever has the last word is only so if the other person isn't mentally strong enough to reject that notion.
Well look what the cat dragged in. I haven't seen you around in a while. Glad to see you're still with us. Because if you are not with us, you are against us. ;)
Yeah I figured I'd roll on through CD. It grew stagnant for a while but things seem to be picking up. Swag
7 years ago
Is the Universe whoever has the last say, or feeling the need to reply to another post out of the perception that that other post has only been posted to have the last say?
Well, this brings point whoring to a whole new level. .
Can you explain what you mean - is the Universe trying to have the last say, in regards to anyone on Earth?
I now have the last word ;)
Joe, I have to dispute the fact you state you have the last word because by virtue of this post, I have the last word.
lol, so you have decided to jump into the middle of the fray.
Alrighty, here's how we work around here. I get the last word. And nobody gets hurt.
Picture that with a south western accent, a pump action shotgun in my hands and, uhhhh, a twitchy eye?
Picture me with a Yankee accent, a bullet proof vest on and spitting in your twitchy eye.
In the western days, if Dr.Phil ate 4 pounds of German cookie dough, then would that cause President Obama to be born as the Anti-Christs' host?
Picture me, firing a round to knock you over, with my shotgun.
Bullet proof vests usually aren't "bullet proof"
If all were to implode into itself, then would the thermodynamic structure be pontificated by Bruce Willis on a Saturday evening?
You should have added an end date on this debate, so that no one can bring it back and win it.
I like to give people hope ;)
But hope is, of course, nonexistent.
You'll have to be persistent, while all I see here are about single tries.
I don't see how double posting is going to help your cause ;)
No, it probably doesn't .
I almost forgot the point of this game ;)
That's what my last comment was supposed to do.
I'm pretty effective.
And you almost got away with this too but I know how to search ;)
BTW, even if you were to get one past me, if you brag about it and I hear about it, I'll rectify the problem ;)
But hope is, of course, nonexistent.
You'll have to be persistent, while all I see here are about single tries.
I don't see how double posting is going to help your cause ;)
You broke your own rule a year ago when you clicked the orange "add argument" button to post the first argument therefore you must ban yourself.
Yeah, that's been a direct contradiction of rule #4!
The rules clearly specifies the exception:
1. I will post the first argument.
;)
The rules clearly specifies the exception:
1. I will post the first argument.
;)
No the rules don't make an exception for the first to post. You're a cheater. ;)
You should read the rules again. It clearly states:
4. If you click on the orange "add argument" button, you will be banned for breaking the rules (Except for the creator of this debate ).
No the rules don't make an exception for the first to post. You're a cheater. ;)
You should read the rules again. It clearly states:

Nice edit job but how do we know you really were the first to post an argument? It kind of looks like Antrim was the first? ;)
Wow! Just how many accounts do you have?
I know he has two for sure...but only he knows how many he really has!
Even I know of more than two... remember BouncyBetty? Anyway, I don't care. I was just JK'ing
6 years ago
I think Bouncing Betty is my favorite ;)
I think I had those accounts since before you took over the site. There is one account, Headless, which I don't have the email address for but I do have the password ;)
At least 4. Look how many up votes I got ;)
No, at least 5 because you can't up-vote yourself. ;)
I guess you're right... but you're still not getting the last word on this debate ;)
Because, of course, I'm having that.
That was rather easy.
I don't think we'll be having greetings right now.
You made this game when the year had started a while ago. Now it's going to end.
Time moves rather slowly.
I've been on this site for 8 years now. None of my debates end. If I ever stop responding, I'm probaly dead ;)
I'm so persistent that if I ever stop responding, I'm bored.
Because these things go on for long, and I've probably never been on a website for more than 4-6 months.
You're 17? I'm 54. I'm practically retired. I have nothing better to do. This doesn't require any physical stamina ;)
Almost 18.
I'll be a logician lawyer.
And probably someone really influential.
If we were a 100 years back, then I'd probably be a Moriarty-like guy. But now, forensics are much more advanced.
That makes it much easier.
Because brains are fragile.
And they get more fragile by reliance on external agents, such as computers.
Also, I could control your computer, mind, everything. But that takes a lot of resources, and it won't be economical to do it on you.
Also, I find it boring to be a cyber equivalent of Moriarty. But as a cyber security specialist lawyer, that won't be very hard. (I'm not really specialising that much, probably, because I don't like programming.)
Well..., I am getting a little senile so... ;)
It must be hard to be really old.
To know that you've been living for so long.
I hypothesised that it must be terrifying to consider that a lot is now memories, and even though it might now seem to have passed quickly, the time has always been moving as slow as it seems to at any moment. (Considering the astronomical accelerations to be negligible.)
It's not hard at all. It's not like I'm afraid of dying or anything. ;)
Not, of course, the fright of death to come.
But rather the memory of what has been. It must seem to have passed quickly, as if just a few days ago was the...well, all things. (At least the way you chose to remember them in future the last time you did.)
And now that's all gone. No matter how quick it might now seem, it clearly was as slow as everything now, even though you might not try to think how slowly the time passes. (Because, it seems, people get better at ignoring the passage of time.)
Yes, time flew by. But that's not hard either. It's just different and new. Life and technology are changing at an ever increasing rate. ;)
But if you've been persistent on a website (that has a rather old design - universal enough for my needs) for 8 years, then I guess that's just something you think to feel better about it.
These self affirmations are easy to believe in - because that's an important feature of the brain. That's why they are generally rather shallow.
There is comfort in things that do not change ;)
I find stagnation boring.
That's a wastage of being.
Except when those are things that would be an unnecessary burden to change.
In order to fix global warming we need to slow down development (new stuff) and make do with less. ;)
If we are to stagnate things, then we might as well destroy them.
I don't think so.
Those who want to can pray to their deities (that they get to pray to them for eternity.)
A stagnant life is extremely boring.
We own this planet, and we can own millions like this.
And damage is going to be done. The living nature can itself lose under its rules. Especially with what I hear about the actions of your new president - damage won't be prevented.
What country are you in ;)
Ah. Wanna talk about Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Sharukh Khan or Amitabh Bachan? BTW, I love Parle-G, chai, Mango Lassi, jilabi and Gulab Jamun. ;)
https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=hg0Ys4u8L1E
6 years ago
No.
Being controlled is a waste of time.
Also, most movies are boring.
Controlled by what? I have no idea what you are talking about ;)
By the popular beliefs.
Most people think that most movies are worth watching. They're the kind who'd go insane if you tell them spoilers.
You read a lot more into my comment than I intended ;)
Things always go a particular way.
It's all either predictable and boring or worsening and annoying.
For example, I couldn't have predicted Trump winning - I could bet for him going out in whatever those pre election rounds are called.
I'd consider running for elections myself if I didn't have different plans. I'll probably be a backstage puppeteer if I want to.
But he can't be a worse candidate than Rahul Gandhi. If he'd have won, it'd be definite that the task is extremely easy.
Well, when things don't go one way, they usually go the other way ;)
Hmm... Yes, I wasn't really about to include that other way, when I remembered some things that don't belong there.
Either way, things are generally boring.
So they should be made to move quickly.
That means no stagnation.
Until, perhaps, I get old and bored of things going fast.
Get married and have kids. Then you will experience how fast life can come at you ;)
https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=QjWWWq-um4U
6 years ago
Life is slow, as I said earlier.
People just get better at ignoring the speed and time as they grow.
If you think life is slow, you should get out of India and move to New York. ;)
With Trump as your president?
I probably won't.
Already your country has an entirely different law education, offering JD instead of LLB and all, so the Bar Council here isn't very accepting about that.
Also, it has gone against what I would have predicted, so I wonder what an irrational person would do of a high position.
I don't know what JD and LLB is.
Embrace the chaos ;)
Oh, those are the titles of law degrees.
LLB is the internationally recognised degree, while JD is something only in America.
Yeah, I don't think we will be recognizing international law for a while ;)
I'd guess you'll need to.
Trump will probably be violating international treaties.
(Even though international law is a much different thing.)
You will see, while I'll be ready to be a puppeteer of politics.
Turns out the government here isn't so idiotic after all - they're not much pushing the digital wallet things.
Never under estimate your opponent. Look at what happened to Hillary ;)
She wasn't particularly smart either.
I could be putting in errors just for the sport and it'd still be fine.
It's rare to find a worthy opponent.
It's a boring world. Moriarty still had a Holmes to entertain him.
It's a boring world.
That's why we elected Trump ;)
So, by that line of reasoning, if something is to remain stagnant, we might as well destroy it.
You are assuming that Trump is going to destroy.., what exactly? The world? America? The Whitehouse? ;)
I've decided to not try predicting much further now that he's elected.
One thing is for sure - it won't be good.
You are already doing in sentence 2 what you said you were not going to do in sentence 1. ;)
Oh, that just follows from the first sentence, some earlier sentences, and a few other things.
You are trying to create your own self fulfilling prophecy/reality. You should send positive thoughts out to the universe ;)
You seem to be reading a lot of self help nonsense these days.
Actually, I have been binge watching on Netflix ;)
There surely are better things to watch.
Though Netflix isn't really friendly in India. I got an Amazon Prime today, but that doesn't have a lot of things. Sherlock, for example (the BBC series.)
Maybe you can move to Canada ;)
I don't really need to 'move to' anywhere, though.
But if I had to, it'd probably be Russia or Switzerland - their laws are the most friendly for an international puppeteer.
Still, India is a good place. The implementation of law is only when those in power want it or are forced by popular pressure.
And they can target only such small things that it's all not worth much concern. It's the greedy idiots who would find them overwhelming - I merely want an amusing game.
So...., your plan is to take over the world? ;)
Not really.
I care little about the world.
As I said, I merely want an interesting game.
Though I might end up taking over the world, because that's the greatest platform to play on.
And I'll be destroying anything up there I don't like. That increases the chances of someone coming forward to play and be crushed if he isn't worth it. That includes many religions. Let's see how validly they say/believe that a hero always emerges.
I think you are having delusions of grandeur ;)
Perhaps.
That can't be ignored.
But that doesn't have any special consequences.
It is all in steps.
All I know is I feel I should be declared winner in getting the last word in this debate for having to endure clicking through 'show replies' a gazillion times to finally be able to type what I hope to be the final word after the never-ending convo between JatinNagpal and Jolie which is the internet equivalent of War and Peace, whew!! :))
Oh, welcome.
But you probably didn't read the conversation.
If you can be persistent enough that I get bored before the limit of your persistence, you can win.
And then there's Joe.
There's always joe ;)
Glad you could join us ravenlily.
I've always wondered how long it takes for a full size debate like this one to have arguments such that the top line can not contain all the symbols.
No, it still contains them.
It'll probably take around 200 more arguments.
But I'll probably be too bored to complete the count even if I begin it.
You're starting to sound boring ;)
I'm known to use different kinds of techniques to win.
Because, as I said, I'm not really persistent over long periods.
You're putting me to sleep ;)
I'm quite effective at the purpose.
To the shadows you shall return, where the self is lost in non-existence and all that remains is a blunt perception that won't be stored in memory.
But, in the things that still go on in your brain, you'll understand that a complete sentience isn't necessary to function.
Are you saying that in order to win I do not need a complete sent.... ;)
No, that'd be absurd.
Also, it isn't really point farming, since either of us isn't getting any more points here.
Has there been bad weather these last few days in India? I mean, isn't there anything better to do over there? ;)
The weather is fine.
And I do have better things to do either way, even if it weren't. Just requires electricity for convenience, which is generally present.
There's all the preparation I have to do to go to the best universities before playing the greatest game of history. Sufficient resources are freely available for the purpose (legally or otherwise - but I plan to purchase all the books in hardcover later.)
So yes, I'm essentially wasting time (of holidays.)
Well..., don't have a girlfriend or something? Shouldn't you be getting laid instead of wasting time on a computer ;)
Well, that'd be really uncommon in the culture here.
Not like I care to do it anyway.
None of the reasons appeal much.
Well..., surely you could be looking at porn or something ;)
I could be, but that isn't really necessary. It's all a false image.
For all I care, I'd rather prefer something more effective for my genes.
At the very least, you could be doing something more productive ;)
Yes, I easily could.
There are many things, and more can easily be arranged.
When do you start school again? Do you have a job? ;)
I start it again from Monday.
And no, not a job.
But, there are always things one can do, and I have sufficient sources for the purpose.
You don't have a job answering a support line? ;)
What's your expertise? Hardware, software? And which one, specifically? I may need to consult with you ;)
I could help you with governing people such that Machiavelli would have been envious.
That's your choice.
It gets easier with greater numbers with the powers of economics.
You know, you can pronounce that such that it means pig in hindi.
Is this where I do the bobble head shaking thing ;)
Yeah, you can shake your head if you prefer.
OK. I'm doing it. You can't see me but I'm doing it ;)
How long are you supposed to shake your head like that? Don't you get headaches from doing that often? Do people there end up with neck problems larer in life from all that head shaking? ;)
No, they don't prefer to do that often.
Though they might end up with problems if they shake things a lot.
That head shaking thing is also bound to scramble your brains ;)
Well, something has to be shaken for entertainment.
Stagnation is boring.
You will change your mind as you get older ;)
I believe we'll still need the same mind even if we achieve immortality when I'm older.
That's what I thought when I was 17 ;)
I'm almost 18. It's just about a month .
That's what I thought when I was 18 ;)
Doesn't matter. That's right. Your being is tied to your mind.
Your mind changes over time ;)
Yes, it does.
I have a few postulates for that. It follows from another one of them, that your being can't stay constant.
I guess that being entertained is the least to want.
There are 7 billion people on the planet. You should be plenty entertained ;)
That's the reason (one of them) that I'll be playing it on the greatest platforms available.
So, when are going to start ;)
In about 5 to 8 years.
By then, I'll be ready to begin practice as the studies will be over.
You remind me of Pinky and the Brain ;)
I wonder why.
From the brief in its Wikipedia article, it seems like just one of those kids' shows about something wanting to take over the world.
And they have terrible plans - so terrible that it's boring.
I doubt something idiot would be able to counter me. It's not a feasible scenario to even happen, much less succeed.
Because they too want to take over the world ;)
Rule no. 1 of making kids' shows - Never make any great plans by any character. It's a waste of time; send it to Sherlock or something similar if you accidentally have.
Good to see that you understood it.
Though it would have been obvious for anyone who has seen those shows as not an infant.
That's idiotic.
But I guess it should be enough to reduce you to that stage of desperation.
Interesting. How did you manage that? Did you use unprintable characters in the ASCII table? ;)
It's like creating a huge program that does nothing.
That's all the hint you'll be getting.
Too bad the payout is not worth the effort ;)
You think that because you're considering it for granted that I intend to hand it to you on a platter.
You did say once that you're a programmer.
So now, if you're worthy of it, then I've already hinted enough.
Like I said, I have better things to do. I am not motivated. I have lost interest. And you cannot goad me into it. ;)
You're too feeble minded.
The world must have been quite difficult for you to navigate in.
Lol. This feeble mind makes six figures ;)
Six figures, you mean? (It couldn't be farther with an error.)
A reference to income?
Living the American dream?
Then you might rejoice it the fact that the American dream exists just to make the little people feel more accomplished than they would otherwise. It'd not exist till now if it wasn't thus beneficial in preserving the status quo. And the people, like slaves, believe any such things put upon them.
It does help dull the senses ;)
It ought to - that's part of the plan. It's one of the best ideas for this and related purposes.
Else it wouldn't be useful enough to sustain.
It worked for Saddam for a little while ;)
Then he surely wasn't good enough to use it properly.
We have such things working since millennia.
And then there's the American dream itself.
Even here, we only put up with it for a maximum of 8 years ;)
Not here, though.
Even if there existed such a rule, it would be rather irrelevant to the Indian politics.
Politics is a boring platform to personally be on.
I'm more of a puppeteer.
I'll be doing that soon.
Currently is the time for preparation.
What about you, though? How much have you succeeded in what you wanted?
Life is like a rip currrent; it has a away of changing course which makes it hard to correct for and then it carries you away from your target. The best thing to do is not to fight it until you're out of it ;)
What was it that you wanted?
It isn't really a great feeling to be ripped away by currents when you can clearly see the target.
But the thing is that sometimes, the same way that it rips you away, it brings you back together. ;)
We could be taking millions of possibilities at each step. That doesn't matter.
It'd be bringing you back together only if it tore you apart.
It doesn't let you the same targets it ripped you from.
That'd mean that you are using false affirmations for yourself.
Of course. It is rare for my analysis to go wrong there.
I know false affirmations when I see them. That also includes most of the popular religions, and things in Nazi Germany.
You're a legend in your own mind ;)
But you don't have the strength to resist that.
Well, others won't be so easy.
Life can be a challenge. ;)
It generally isn't.
People make their lives challenging - it's self imposed.
I'd guess that you're still as clueless as possible about things.
Pretty much. Your interests are not the same as mine ;)
In my interests, if you are reduced to those poor attempts at win about single words, then that's your defeat.
I can outlast any party time.
Oh, is that what you're going on about? That puppeteering thing is about winning? ;)
Oh, I actually forgot about it there for a while.
It generally happens with me in slow conversations - I get too bored to remember things.
So..., the puppeteering thing is not about winning? ;)
No, it isn't. It's just my political inclination.
With sufficient power that comes, I could take the world under me. Or perhaps not officially, but that doesn't really matter.
A system's defence is only as good as the smartest person that designed it.
Never underestimate the power of stupid in large groups ;)
Large groups of stupid behave even more stupidly than their individual components.
You'll have to be really lucky if not smart enough to rise in those situations, because it is very improbable when random.
What I am saying is that stupid people in large groups can lay your plans to waste ;)
That's one of the most basic things.
They won't.
If need be, they'll have no idea about things.
And stupid people don't care about having no idea.
That's one of the most basic things.
They won't.
If need be, they'll have no idea about things.
And stupid people don't care about having no idea.
Just think about all the stupid people that voted for something you did not want and they won ;)
That's right...
But I could predict their voting, even though I didn't want it to go that way.
It's not a risk big enough for me to divide the influence.
I would also have more cards to play in each consequent election. The more dogmatic countries can be done away with, unless they're useful.
You are as confindent as Hillary Clinton ;)
But I'm not as absorbed as her, even if we grant that she was smart enough.
I'm just a detached analyst.
Then analyze away and let me know when you have somethi g to report ;)
That's what I'm doing.
You can try summoning your favourite gods, and it shall not be a considerable problem to me.
Ok. So what is your latest report ; )
It's that even if everyone's favourite gods unite against me, they'd be no match.
Because they're all imaginary.
Right. But stupid people in large groups are more than a match for you if they unite against you ;)
But they won't.
Because they're rather primitive.
Controlling them isn't a hard task. Years of civilisation has made it easy enough, else I'd need to invent a religion for the purpose.
That's what Hillary said ;)
I don't think so.
It doesn't even seem a viable possibility.
As to me, I'm unafraid. All that I say online, might someday be published in hardcover.
I guess we will just have to wait and see ;)
Waiting is boring.
But, if you live long enough, you shall see it all if it happens (which is rather probable.)
It is not boring to watch the trials and tribulations someone is going through ;)
Oh, a sadist?
That's interesting.
But the tribulation simply won't happen. People should ideally be punished for popularising such insane fantasies.
Especially the greater dogmatists. I have punishments somewhat equivalent to eternal torture for them in mind, so that the ground of threats be a bit levelled.
One man's tragedy is another man's comedy ;)
Yes, but you'll have to live long enough to have the laugh.
I might decide to televise the torture for the world to see. But sadly, I probably won't be able to record the hallucinations that I've planned.
We have a saying here.
Laughing increases blood.
Though I wonder whether it is any valid, it seems fine enough.
I feel my blood increasing ;)
Also, another one, in which laughing increases life expectancy, or adds time to your life.
If it's valid, then you might more probably live long enough to laugh your heart /lungs/intestines/other internals out.
I feel my life expectancy increasing ;)
You can laugh at the idiots if you want much more of it.
You've said that already.
So... tell me more about India. Are you guys ever going to nuke Pakistan? ;)
No. India is rather obedient to the UN, so it won't do any such thing.
We rather expect them to merge inside India and form the Greater India again. But the current government is too religious, even though the base rate wasn't big enough already.
I don't see that happening any time soon ;)
Yes, but India probably won't be nuking anything.
If you understood Hindi, then you could see the election campaigns here.
I was wondering why some Indian people have a red dot on their forehead and my friend said that it means that they already took a shower for that day. ;)

Yes, it actually does connect to that.
It's a religious sign, and they apply the dot only after taking bath.

That's easy to guess, so, of course, you might knew it.

As I said, your being reduced to such responses is equivalent to me winning.
That was easy.
But that's too obvious.
You might as well ban me to win.

I think I have a sound strategy. You hate stagnation. You hate being bored. If I just keep on providing stagnant, boring, arguments, I win ;)

Yes, you do.
But if you are reduced to really simple statements like you've been a few times, then you might as well ban me to win.

That would be too easy. ;)

But it'd be equally as worthless and cowardly.

I think this whole debate is worthless ;)

Well, you can earn at most 10 points from a debate by adding arguments, and you've already done that.
It isn't point whoring for either of us.
It just shows that we generally have the last word.

There is a small difference. I have been here years. I started when I was old so your only fall back is that I die before you have college, wife and/or kids sucking up your time ;)
How long have you been here?
Just as much as my profile shows.
As I said, I don't stay for long.
And then I have to prepare a game to play.
Yes, that's what the plan is.
There are several options for starting it well, but each has some stakes that are hard to play.
Yes, of course.
I expect it to succeed.

May you always have enough water to never go without a red dot ;)
Yeah. I am wishing you luck. You said that a red dot means you took a shower for that day and so I am wishing you enough water to bathe every day. A red dot every day. On your forehead. ;)
In our culture, a red dot on your forehead means that someone is aiming a gun at your head ;)
