Whats your point? The fact of the matter is those products are sourced from cattle. A dietary vegan might only boycott animal products in their diet, but what kind of cop-out is that? The point of issue is in killing animals for the benefit of man, is it not? In which case ethical vegans are the only real vegans, other are just vegetarian. But, as the picture shows, being an ethical vegan would be very, very difficult.
Killing a man is cruel but killing a cow is not cruel? Aren't those animals as ALIVE as we are? They are not material things like a sofa, a mobile eh?
I don't know about the cost of those products. I don't live in US, you will need to find out. In my country the cost of these products is the same as other products.
Anyways, killing animals for purposes other than our security and survival, is cruel and should be illegal. Killing anyone, human or animal, can only be justified if it's for one's security and/or survival.
Only the method used can be classified as cruel. Not the act.
For example, if we knew beyond any doubt that there was such a thing as life after death (not necesarily a God per se, but rather..., just life after death) and that life was better, then the act of killing would not be cruel because you would just be sending them to a better place. But if you tortured them, then that method of killing is cruel.

Not so. Nobody in this world has the right to take the other's life. Because every organism in this world has the RIGHT TO LIVE.

The next life after death will be the same as our present life. Why'd you say it would be better place? In any case, since you don't know if it would be 'better' or 'worse' (if it was known that it would be better, everyone would commit suicide), hence you can't use that excuse to kill someone. :)

The lions are exercising their 'right to live' by feeding on herbivore animals. Else they will die. Just as we exercise our 'right to live' by eating plants. Else we will die.

My guess. Nobody knows. If we knew for sure that we reincarnate, then all the sad, poor or lonely people in the world would commit suicide. Actually that would be 99% of the world population!
