The question is not, "Are celebrities overpaid?" The question is, "Why don't you hear a large number of liberals calling them greedy?" alternatively, "Why do you hear a large number of liberals calling CEOs greedy?"
The difference is celebrities don't have millions of employees. In order for a capitalistic society to thrive people need to have money to spend. If the CEOs are hoarding all the money for themselves, then their employees don't have any money to spend. Let's take everyone's favorite corporate villain for example. The CEO of Walmart earns more in 1 HOUR than the average Walmart employee will earn in 1 YEAR [1]. The average CEO pay is 380 times that of the average worker. They may work hard, but they don't work 380 times as hard. If they paid their employees better instead of buying themselves a 5th ocean-side estate our economy would probably be booming because people would have money to spend. Here is a list of executive pays if you're interested. http://www.forbes.com/lists/2012/12/ceo-compensation-12_rank.html
"Executive compensation has been blamed in part for the housing bubble that led to the great recession by business journalists and economists." [2]
“Getting fired can produce a particularly bountiful payday for a CEO, Indeed, he can ‘earn’ more in that single day, while cleaning out his desk, than an American worker earns in a lifetime of cleaning toilets. Forget the old maxim about nothing succeeding like success: Today, in the executive suite, the all-too-prevalent rule is that nothing succeeds like failure.” - Warren Buffet

I came here when I was nine and didn't speak English. I was placed in the correct grade and basically told, "Sink or swim." I was speaking English before the year was out. Taking children and putting them back one year in school while they learn English is racist.
How were you able to understand what the teachers were saying if you didn't speak any English? I wasn't able to find any information linking affirmative action to this. Can you point me to something that says that it was a result of affirmative action?
Bi-lingual education is racist
Why is it racist to expect people to speak the language of the country they are living in? Language has nothing to do with race. If I moved to France would it be racist of them to expect me to speak french?
Affirmative Action is racist
Affirmative action was created to fight racism, although it definitely had some serious flaws. Affirmative action started with executive Order 10925, signed by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. It required government contractors to "take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin."
So, the intent of affirmative action is to create equality, not be racist. One of the methods used to counteract discrimination is where affirmative action took a step in the wrong direction. When it started using quotas (saying business had to hire a certain percentage of minorities) is when the shit hit the fan, and rightfully so. Although the goals behind quotas were well intentioned, they were a bad idea. People should be hired based on their skills, not because a company needs to meet a racial quota. Fortunately, quotas have been abolished.
All of these things suggest that the individual is too stupid to make it on their own.
No, they suggests that people are racist and discriminate against minorities, making it much more difficult for them to find jobs. It has nothing to do with minorities being stupid, it has to do with racists being stupid.
It takes incentive away. It creates an entitlement subculture. It is destroying this country.
Some parts of affirmative action do, such as the quota system. I definitely agree that there should not be special rules for minorities. However, I'm sure you're familiar with the term "don't throw the baby out with the bath water." The same goes for affirmative action. Although some parts of it are flawed, it shouldn't be cast aside completely. Affirmative action is the reason employers can't turn away someone just because they don't like their race. Does affirmative action need to be tweaked? Absolutely. Should it be thrown out completely? Absolutely not. We just have to find the right balance. The intentions of affirmative action are good, but the implementation needs work.
It gets my panties in a bunch
You should see if Victoria's Secret has some anti-bunch panties : )
