An idea whose time has come.

What if we embed transmitting coils in roadways, electric cars carrying receiving coils could charge themselves as they zoom down the road. An e-car owner would never have to search for a charging station or plug in the car. That is the goal of a research team at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), in Daejeon, which has developed what they call the on-line electric vehicle (OLEV) system.

I hope they make it happen. It'll create lots of jobs and fix the economy. Wait..., what would this do to rush hour traffic? FUUUU ;)

This is great, it would be bad-ass to have Tesla coils and stuff powering our transpiration. But just like back in the day, we'll never get it because electricity would be made essentially free.

Water used to be free. Wait until they start selling you air ;)

Side: True.

GREAT IDEA, but the initial investment would easily be in the trillions, not only in the vehicles including semis, but the roads. The technological cost doesn't outweigh the benefits.
