I'm not sure I would buy the measurement of the universe. Gravity bending light and relative speed distorting time I have no problem with. I haven't really investigated the measuring methods used to size the universe though I don't have a problem with it being 13 or 18 billion light years wide.....when you say it measures 13 or 18 billion years of age, that is not true. It's a belief which ignores a lot of data which is hard scientific facts which do not fit with the age of the universe being billions of years old. Measuring the size and claiming the size proves the age are blending desired belief with actual facts.
"Life simply verifies the theory that life exists" is saying a lot of nothing about something, isn't it? Is that supposed to be impressive, establishing you as intellectually superior to those who question your beliefs?
Whoever said faith is based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof obviously has no faith. If you have make believe wishes based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof, you are not living in reality. Your talking about two different kinds of faith. One is based on facts, the other is baseless and not real. And if you go off saying there is no proof of facts regarding God I have to nip that in the bud by saying you are in your body, you are not your body, the only explanation for life being in your body is that God put it there and if that is not enough fact for you to believe God is God, I doubt that anything will be enough fact for you....if you will not believe the fire of Hell burns hot in God's wrath against sin as the passion of sin burns hot against God, and sin fuels the fire of Hell forever as sinners are incapable of changing themselves into not being sinners.....if you will not believe Hell is real except by finding yourself in the fire with no way out and unable to die but dying forever....well that's the way you will have it and you sure can't say God never tried to talk you out of it.
You did correctly define faith as trust or confidence in someone or something. We have that faith based on the character of the thing or person in which we place our faith. You place your faith in people who tell you there is no punishment in death. Why you hold such confidence in people who have nothing but wishful thinking to sell you is a mystery...except that it gives you an excuse in which you feel justified for your sins.
Yes I have faith in God for good reasons, based on His character and His revelation of Himself in His word and in Creation. A lot of people have twisted ideas of God and a misplaced faith. Either everybody is wrong or somebody is right and all the rest are wrong since they all disagree with each other. You are placing your faith in something you can only prove by dying and that's what you are doing with your faith, dying...it's suicide. You are going against your own life by going against God who gives life...you are declining, negating, your own life and believe it or not it never ends in Hell and you will have it that way if you really want it that way which apparently you do when you insist nothing good comes from God. The reality where there is nothing good from God is in the fire of Hell and you literally want it when you say there is nothing good in reality from God. God will give you the desire of your heart, proof in your reality that there is nothing good from Him and that will be dying forever in the fire of Hell. You are bringing it on yourself and God is reluctant to give it to you or you would be there now.
You need to be saved, God the Savior is Jesus Christ who died for you so you can be forgiven by Him in His resurrection and have His eternal life as a child of God...but going against you are stating your preference to be a child of Hell.
Laugh out loud until you are blue in the face and see if you really do have the right to exist outside of Hell as you are fooling yourself into believing. If you think I'm going to read your rubbish the way you start off with a clown act pretending your laughter makes you powerful, you're not very bright....and I think you have pretty well established that before you made your stupid post here. I feel sorry for you....I tell you to do something, laugh out loud until you are blue in the face, which will result in you ending up in Hell and I don't have to tell you to do that, you are doing it for yourself. The fact that you declare that there is no explanation for life or reality only proves that you do not know the purpose of meaning of life, and you cannot explain reality.
You probably won't believe it, but I do know the meaning and purpose of life and I can explain reality.
Life means God is good. That is the meaning of life....life means God is good. The purpose of life is to glorify God. The thing you refer to as "a god" is not God who created all things. Things which are called gods are things that are not God who created all things. Why do you always want to talk about "a god" and not God?
You yourself concede that you can't explain life or reality apart from God. Faith is based on facts, true faith is entirely logical. If you can't explain life or reality apart from God, is it not logical to conclude that God gives life and governs reality? The only reason you will not follow the logical conclusion and acknowledge that God is there is because you know that would mean you are subject to His will and need to know who you are dealing with in reality.....the only reason you will not acknowledge God is pride in which you enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin.
There is only one God who you want to deny is God. He is God who says sinners need to be saved from Hell. All of the things you call "gods" are irrelevant. Who cares if they are real or not? It is only God who you want to be gone but you cannot admit He is the One you want to be free of because that would be acknowledging Him and you can't be an atheist if you acknowledge God is the One who you want to be non-existent. Arguing against Thor, Zeus, filleting spaghetti monster......those are red herrings, consciously created straw men you argue against saying they cannot be God That is not an argument against God. There is no valid argument against God.
No, I'm talking about God when I talk about God. People who talk about things which are not God are not talking about God the creator of all things. You might notice they avoid acknowledging the recognized definition of God as being the Creator of all things.
Saying many gods are not God is not an argument against God, it's a childish game.
There is plenty of proof that God is God who created all things. The fact that you will not accept proof is not proof that there is no proof. You have chosen to set up a brick wall in your mind behind which you think God cannot see you because He is not there...but you're only fooling yourself.
True faith is based on facts, true logic is true without error. The fact is that there is no explanation for life or reality outside God creating it. It's very simple, but people who don't want God telling them what they should or should not do prefer a blind faith based on nothing in which they believe death exonerates them.
The truth is that we are morally corrupt and unworthy of being in God's presence. That is why you cannot see God now, your sin separates you from Him. The truth is that you are not living, but are dying and as you had no choice in coming into existence you have no choice but to exist and you are going to be somewhere. Dying people need to be saved. The truth you hope in is that death gets you out of reality.....you're hoping in nothing and have faith in nothing and it's giving you nothing but death.
It does not matter if you believe God is God or not, you cannot change reality, you cannot make God void by saying He is not there...all you can do is seal your fate in sin separated from God, and that's not wise as pride goes before a fall and you have one foot in the grave and the other on thin ice melting over the fire of Hell. Only God the Savior Jesus Christ who conquered death can save you and pull you up out of it.

There are millions of Gods. The things you are calling God are not God who created all things. You are holding up 3000 straw men, created in your own imagination, and saying they are not God who created all things. Of course they are not God. This stuff is so stupid and atheists act so smug with their consciously created straw men which they know are not God.
If you say God is one of the things which you call gods, then the thing you are calling God is not God who created all things. You are being dishonest if you say God is a created thing, then arguing a created thing cannot be the Creator of all Things.

Do you think God is taking a nap, leaving you to die while He takes a nap? Do you think you are more deserving of food than those who die of hunger?
You gloat over the pain and suffering others go through, you blame God for their troubles, do you thank God that you do not have such troubles? Why should you not be the same as those you hold as trophies implying you have won the right to say God is not good?
