I know its a joke but on a serious note: The human brain looks for appearances before anything else. Its what draws you in to investigate the person and socialize with them. If you then continue to date them afterwards solely for their looks yeah its kinda shallow. But if you get hooked by their looks then learn that you like other things about them then its just a perk.
