Should a mother be allowed to harvest her dead son's sperm?
A Texas mother who tragically lost her 21-year-old son hopes that she will be able to raise her grandchildren after a judge granted her request to posthumously harvest sperm from his body.

Is it me or do women seem to have more rights than men?

Why would anyone want to subject children to this weird situation? Does anyone ever really think about the children? Your pregnancy is an inconvenience? No problem, abort. Let the fetus deal with it. Your marriage is stale? No problem, get a divorce, let kids deal with it. You want to be a single parent? No problem, let the kids deal with it. You want to raise your dead son's unborn children? No problem, harvest his sperm, get a surrogate mother and have her artificially inseminated. Let the kids deal with it. Jeez! 3

i don't think it should be allowed. a child should not be born off of a dead parent. unless they die during the pregnancy or child labor. that would potentially just traumatize the kid. and its a little sick to mutilate your sons dead body, because of your own selfish desire to have grand kids. but, i mean, if its really what she wants and believes she should do, then I'm certainly not going to judge her. none the less, due to the effects it would have on the child of the ALREADY deceased person....that should not be allowed. Side: No
I'm sorry but I have to agree with J.C. What do you think the children are going to do? I mean they will have such a tragic life if they are born! I know that it is legally acceptable, but morally it is just insane and shouldn't be tolerated! I hope this woman will have to get a neurological exam and get thrown into a Looney Bin! Side: GROSS

What I don't understand is, once rigor mortis sets in, it's got to be a harder erection than a viagra erection and who's going to jerk him off to get the sperm? How do they suck it out? Wait.... what do you mean they stick a needle in his ying yang? Oh, that's just sick! That's just wrong! Side: GROSS

OK, think about this, what if someone told you that you were the result of a dead man (your father) and a surrogate mother? Then they tell you that the old woman you call mom is really your grandmother. I mean, even Luke Skywalker didn't have to deal with morbid shit like that. He just had to deal with having Darth Vader as his father and Leah as his sister. Side: yes
