What is more important than Global Warming?

There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.
During WWII, Irena got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.
She had an ulterior motive...
She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).
She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family. Most, of course, had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.
Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize....
She LOST.
Al Gore won, for doing a slide show on Global Warming. Apparently nothing is more important than global warming.

I'd like to think outside the box that someone was bribed to pick Gore. Global warming deserves a "peace" award vs. a woman that went out of her way to save 2,000 children? Is the majority of the world really that selfish? Who picks the winner for nobel peace prize anyway? Side: what the hell

I'm amazed at the amount of hatred you conservatives have toward a guy who hasn't done anything accept bring science that's been around for a decade to public attention. It's like a little kid getting mad at his parents for telling him there's no such thing as Santa Clause. How dare he talk about science like, like, LIKE IT'S SCIENCE OR SOMETHING! Actually there is a lot of lies in Al Gore's statements that are detrimental to science... I know several University Geology Professors (who is a liberal) who love to mention how they would love to point out to Al Gore all the lies he has told... He works at this University - http://www.youtube.com/ Gore's slide show which is also full of lies is somehow more important then the saving of tens of thousands of children from being burned alive!?!??!?!?!? I can't believe to what length his groupies will go to defend him... Not that Global Warming isn't real its just that the man you protect is a not a good person... As you can see conservatives aren't the only ones against Al Gore, allot of very smart people are. If i were a judge, i'd look at the prize as LONG overdue. it was a politically correct thing to do. no one worries that much about the holocaust anymore. they only feel sad about it when they watch movies about it and stuff, but Global Warming. Lies! It's always scheming liberals! They're always plotting the downfall of the American public with their 'socialist' ways. Hahaha, but no davidh has a point, it probably has something to do with the fact that i twas a long time ago. I could understand if he single-handedly did the research and came up with the conclusions on his own, but he only made a documentary for it. This woman risked her life and health to save others from war. If this is undeserving of a peace prize, then I don't know what is. Side: what the hell

Maybe I should get a Nobel Prize for raising awareness for something that effects billions of people. If you're light skin, wear sun screen inorder to protect your skin from the sun or you'll get skin cancer. Don't smoke, You'll get lung cancer. There. Now how long before I get my Nobel Prize?
