Most variables of a populace are difficult to pin down by generation although there are some general consistencies within generations. I think the best way of studying these consistencies is via polls. Anecdotes are poor indicators of where a sect of the population stands, however they are efficient tools to basically associate a narrative with a phenomenon that is already backed by statistics.
