I think this is funny because many Christians believe that atheists will go to hell and by not trying to convert all the atheists to christianity, they are letting them go to hell and be tortured forever. Christians who care for people, that they don't burn forever, should feel compelled to help their fellow atheists out and convert them because, in my opinion, no one deserves to be burned forever. Think about your hand catching on fire, your hand burned in front of your eyes. Your bone exposed. This happens to everyone in hell for all eternity. this is terrible. i would not even punish the murderer of the whole human race with this torture. how is God a good god if he lets people burn in hell when he can quickly and easilly stop it. You are right. Christians have one hell of.a delema. On the one hand they can convert everyone and get them to heaven but then heaven would be so crowded that it wouldn't be worth it.. Also, if they went door to door trying to convert everyone, they would be hated as much as Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. No matter what they do, they can't win ;) Side: True

It's not the peaceful lessons that we shun, it's the horrific atrocities we shun, like beating your slaves (Exodus 21:20), selling your daughters into slavery (Exodus 21:7-11), stoning your children to death (Exodus 21:17), slaughtering entire towns because a few people from the town say "let us go and worship other gods" (Deuteronomy 13:13-18), killing anyone who works on the sabbath (Exodus 31:12-15), killing a man for trying to be helpful (2 Samuel 6:3-7), killing children (Ezekiel 9:5-7, Exodus 12:29-30, Isaiah 13:15-18, 1 Samuel 15:2-3, and many more), human sacrifice (Judges 11:29-40, 1 Kings 13:1-2, 2 Kings 23:20-25), and so on, and so on. Many atheists, including myself, don't believe the god of the Bible is real because of how immoral he is. He can't be omnibenevolent and commit or allow such atrocities. Side: Wait..., what? No!!!

Ok, so this statement makes me kind of angry. It is not the 'Dark Side' Nor should it be called that. And sure maybe some do. But the majority of us could care less. We aren't believers. But if you want to believe in some god in the sky that you can't see, then by all means pray your little hearts out. There is nothing wrong with that. We just don't share the same opinions as Theists do. But its not the 'dark side'. So don't call it that. That's like us saying that Theists are on the stupid side. But we don't say that, now do we? I wouldn't get angry Joes like the sites pet troll, he makes some good debates but nearly always puts a title to them that he knows will get a reaction, he's alright though and unfortunately there are some Theists who do believe that Atheism is the dark side. When this debate first popped up I thought it had been created by one of the sites less tolerant Theists then I saw the creator (of the debate not God), so in a way its a clever title it got people debating as it plays to some Theists irrational fear of Atheism but will also rile up some of the Atheists to respond. You might not think or say Theists are stupid but there are some Atheists who do believe it and are quite vocal about it. Side: True
