Actually, we were just talking about this in Calculus the other day, the teacher thought it had something to do with the lesson... Forgot what that was... I'm pretty sure it was dubbed "The Creepiness Quotient".

But in reality, it's a pretty realistic formula.

Another question would be, why is he wearing a dress? Aren't there plenty of very patriotic suits for men? Is it patriotic to wear a dress? Why didn't anyone tell me?

That's ridiculous. I could understand someone not liking a short name, I only go by Andrew, never Andy, but I would never send two emails telling someone not to call me by another name, let alone 19.

If someone takes themselves that seriously, though, ever, I would just have to poke the bear and call her "Liz" just to prove a point.

Most politicians seem to check their brains at the door when they get elected, anyway. It's all you can expect when someone's already been about as successful as they can be in the business world and then they just... Move on to bigger and, well, I guess you could say better things. Not all of them, remember, I'm not saying all of them are like this, it's just that it seems like many politicians are moving on to something more powerful.

So you say you're going to be a cop. I think that's pretty cool, but you really can't ever know for sure.

What if you don't pass the test? What if it's a psychological thing that you really just can't change?

What then?

Are you going to specialize your early life so much that you only have two options: police officer or ditch digger?

You need to diversify your options, as always, just in case.

BUT...

I had a summer course last year, and that math teacher had one of the best systems for grading I've ever seen:

You do the homework the first time around. You go up to her desk and show it to her, and she would grade it in front of you, marking off the mistakes and grading you based on your answers. If you got them all right, you got an A. If they were all wrong, you got an F. But then, after she graded it the first time, you could go back and redo the problems you got wrong an unlimited amount of times that day until you finally went back up and got an A on the work. Each time, she would go into the records and change the grade. Once you hit a grade you were comfortable with, you could stop.

This method truly holds both effort and achievement high, and if a student wants to work harder to get an A, the student will understand the subject better. If it's a kid who doesn't care, he or she will just go up once and not take the time to keep fixing the work.

That is seriously the best method I have ever seen.

No; a better promotional video would be a live-action (Or animated if you must) short of someone creating a debate and getting so worked up over the arguments that s/he spends all his/her time on the website replying and arguing.

That video makes the updates seem annoying and the site seem restrictive.

Some sound effects couldn't be that hard to gather, as most of it is typing on a keyboard. The head-pounding-on-the-keyboard part might be a little harder, but you only need to hit your head on an old keyboard once and you can replicate the sound as many times as you want.

I've been wanting a CreateDebate t-shirt for a while. I've even done some internet searches, but nothing. I remember suggesting that for the T-Shirt contest, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. I want one, nonetheless.

You know you'd never be able to stop. Even if you sell your account, I'd bet you'll be looking all the time just to check up on whoever bought it and how they're keeping up your... name.

Don't fool yourself. Once you sell, that's it. There's no going back. Even if you realize that selling was a terrible idea and you have a vast, endless hole in your heart for CreateDebate, you'll be forced to start over again!!!!

As for being at the top of the list, I just think you flood the formula with massive numbers, compared to the rest of us (for example, me and my measly 500-ish points).

It pissed me off when I saw that, in the invitation to another JoeCavalry debate, the word 'cookies' was misspelled as "coockies."

Maybe we could try the technique used with annoying children, and I'm completely serious about this:

They do something bad, we don't take notice. I know this sounds extreme, but maybe we could work somewhere in the middle. Don't give them all of the media coverage. Don't let them get the satisfaction of chaos in the Western world. When/If Osama releases another video, give it to the CIA and the President and don't play it. They might notice that they are blowing all of their children, neighbors, and friends to bits, and they are getting nowhere with it.

If they still insist on killing their fellow countrymen, let them. Let it happen, because by then we have tried counter-violence and non-violence. There really would be little more to do to stop these terrorists. Maybe then we could re-evaluate the situation and come up with an idea.

I don't think you have to stop actually being friends with these people... You just have to delete them from your friends list. If that would completely constitute the termination of your friendship, then you really aren't very good friends with that person, are you?

From what I've heard, there are a lot of people on Facebook that add friends they really don't know or have any other contact with, but I don't really know, because I don't use Facebook. They probably have safeguards against this, but I would go on a friend rampage, and then delete 10 whenever I feel hungry.

To me, this sounds like a terrible idea for a company. But for me, it sounds pretty cool!

A somewhat similar story happened to me, in 8th grade.

My Science teacher had left mid-day, and the sub was late getting to class. A few of the more courageous students found the light off and the door unlocked. Since this was a Science room in the center of the building, there were no windows other than the doors and it was pitch dark inside. A few students walked in, and got scared by these guys jumping out of the dark into the doorway, and laughed and went to their seat in the dark. The same happened to me and all of the other students in the class. Right before the bell was about to ring, the "scarers" scared what was probably the last student to come in, which actually turned out to be the sub. She jumped about a foot in the air. We all saw our well-behaved lives flash before our eyes, knowing that there would be some consequences. Of course, she didn't find this very funny, but she did have a good sense of humor, and realized that there was no harm done, so she told them not to do it again and told us a long, drawn-out story of high school students that were without a teacher for a week and functioned perfectly autonomously. It was hilarious.

I have changed the content of what a web page says to play a prank on my brother, sister, parents, and friends. On Google Chrome, you can edit the text of a website temporarily, which puts you in control of what any news site or Google.com front page says. If you use a normally reputable web site, you can get people to believe anything!

I have a feeling that there is a part of this story that's missing...

Re-direct the money going to welfare to investing in infrastructure that really helps these people. Mass transit would allow them to go to the doctor, apply for a job, go to the store, and do anything you could do with a car, except plan the route. This makes much more sense to me. I bet the towns that are "too big to walk around in yet to small for mass transit" spend a lot of money on welfare. They could get a really nice, really efficient transit system with that money, and maybe even lower taxes, too!

Being a human myself, I may be a little biased, but I think that I would like the proud heritage of humanity to last well into the future. We've done a lot of work to make the world to our liking, and I don't think that any of the other species would really appreciate it.
