If it had a hole, you could not get enough suction to draw the liquid from the cup to your mouth.
That statement depends on where the hole is and how big it is.
However, it is interesting that you say that a straw can have a hole. Tell me then, does a wooden straw have a hole(s)? ;)
Here's the link. See for yourself ;)
If I had to defend the libs, I would say:
1. The rule of law is tyranny. Laws are in place to protect the status quo. It protects the powerful and makes it hard for the weak to become powerful.
2. The world owes you nothing. And yet, when you are born, you owe the world in the form of taxes. You have to pay taxes for stuff you never agreed you wanted even if you don't use it.
If those arguments do not hold water, then it is a good thing I do not have to defend libs ;)

The iPhone X interface is a disaster. If you are rich, you can afford to get one just for show and a different phone for every day use. ;)
Stephen Hawking has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to destroy civilization.
In a recent interview with Wired, the University of Cambridge Professor said AI could one day reach a level where it outperforms humans and becomes a “new form of life.”
"I fear that AI may replace humans altogether,” he told the magazine. “If people design computer viruses, someone will design AI that improves and replicates itself. This will be a new form of life that outperforms humans."
And this is bad, why? ;)
